The Role
The VTS NPI Engineering Role based in PC Qingdao (CQV) will be responsible for the delivery of world class Service solutions into the Global Service Technology Centre's & Field Service organization to stimulate VTS sustainable and profitable growth.
They will work closely with Engineering, Marketing, STC and Field Service Operations and other Product Companies in order to technicaly define & communicate service capability and service' launch requirement processes across the different branded sectors. In addition to supporting the Technical Support team with product guidance
Particularly to provide implement technologies & provide 2nd level technical support in the domain of sensors, actuators, interfaces and control system development in Industrial Vacuum Products for the VTS Division, and support technology development to accelerate the development of intelligent service products and industry 4.0-ready services into the global service organization in a scalable and repeatable way.

Main responsibilities:
- Project manages the NPI service requirements of new equipment, processes including documentation, tooling or training into the global Service organization. This includes SOP's, parts manuals, training plan, test documentation & equipment, new tooling & gauging, service task lists & bill of materials
- Reviews the current and future NPI capacity requirements. Creation of the STC / FS Product Launch Plan which will include the product description including technical data, sales & repair volumes, project costs, STC Layout requirements, roll-out justification, materials & tooling.
- Manages& ensuresall NPI documents & procedures have been approved & are available in latest status via the Service organization websites and trained out using various methods which may include, Face to Face, Video, SOP documentation or individual training modules.
- Change control is essential and communication of change to the VTS service organisation is paramount. Global communication and collaboration with peers, reviews business requirements with Line Manager, Informs the global STC's & FS organization of any changes or new requirements, actively engages with PC's, technical, Manufacturing Engineers, Marketing, Logistics, and VTS Central Management. Supports the SIB processes as well as the technical support team

Actively participates in NPI project design reviews and engages with NPI teams with a Design for Service focus.
- Support project teams worldwide with implementing Controllers, drives and accessories (sensors, interfaces, actuators) into their vacuum products and managing their integration in the global service organization. Including necessary documentation (SOPs, Parts Manual, etc)
- Perform review on controller and drives integration projects from the Service perspective and provide trainings to support them in the FS and STC organization.
- Provides 2nd level technical support to FS & STCs in controller and drives related topics
- Worldwide collaboration with external and internal software engineers/developers, NPI teams in PC, technology departments in equipment divisions, FS & STC Academy, FS&STC Operations & remote connectivity.
Scope of the job:
- The role will be based in PC Qingdao (CQV) and will require delivery of global NPI product tasks and support of intelligent products
- The Engineer will have a Design for Service understanding and focus and will work with the team to influence the PC in delivering this requirement.
- A strong ability to communicate, interact and maintain a close relationship with his /her peers to fulfil this role with the vision to meet the business strategy and the ability to deliver on-time to budget.
- Must be pro-active and able to work with multi-national teams and individuals and able to travel to other Leybold, Edwards or Atlas Copco locations.

What we expect of you

Education and experiences:
- Master in Mechatronics or equivalent Mechanical Design or Manufacturing will be added value
- Strong intrest in rotating machinery, electrical drive systems, electronics, fieldbus communication and thermodynamics in pumps.
- Experience with programming in Python, C, C++, .NET, Java or PLC languages.
- Experience with networking and connectivity
- Experience with sensors, actuators and electronics in general

- Strong interest in Data Science, Big Data, Internet-of-things, control system development,...
- Strong communication skills. Experience in project management is desirable.
