Role Purpose
The Media category is about buying all the traditional media space for Vodafone’s adverts across our footprint, including TV, radio, print, and out-of-home. The category is of strategic importance to Vodafone, with high exposure to Vodafone’s Group Executive Committee, as it ensures that Vodafone’s Brand teams get access to the right channels of communication to reach our target customers at the right price. Vodafone spends around €350 - €400 million per year on traditional Media and most of the spend is channeled through a global media agency that is selected via a VPC-led global media pitch process every 2.5 years (the final business case is presented and submitted for approval to Vodafone’s Group Executive Committee). Between every two pitch processes, the category requires a very focused ongoing performance and contract management of the Global Media Agency to ensure their contractual commitments are delivered and adjusted to the changing market conditions.
The successful candidate will be working as part of an established central Marketing procurement team, reporting to the Principal Category Manager Media. He/she will be part of the VPC Media team (3 – 5 people) and will be collaborating very closely with a wider agile project team. The role will involve regular interactions with senior stakeholders in local markets (including Consumer Business Unit Directors and Heads of Brand), while working in very close collaboration with our Group Brand team and our local Brand and SCM teams, as part of a large cross-functional virtual team. The successful candidate will be questioned to manage very complex contracts and complex commercial models and will be world-class at project management.
